Pizza Night

This is a Hot Chicken Wing Pizza.

We make homemade pizza at our house and love it! It tastes just as good, if not better than most pizza joints, but without all the seriously fatty and greasy crusts. After trying many pizza dough recipes, this is one we found that we really like:

-1 package of dry yeast (.25oz) If you have a tub of yeast that goes in the fridge like we do, I think the equivalent is 2 1/4 teaspoons. It should say on the container.
-1 cup very warm water
2 tsp. sugar
*Put those together and let it set for 5-10 minutes to get the yeast going. You don't need to mix it up.
-2 Tbsp olive oil
-1 tsp. salt
-around 3 cups of flour.
*Mix the rest of the ingredients in until it has a nice dough texture and then knead it until it's ready (When you poke 2 fingers in it, the holes should not pop right back out.)
*Set it in a bowl with a light tea towel covering it and let it rise for 30min. or until it's doubled. Once it's ready, you just take it out and roll it out as thick or as thin as you'd like your pizza to be.

The Chicken Wing Pizza (The 1st I ever had it was at my sister's house. I don't know if she found it somewhere, or invented it. It's REALLY good though, and I don't even like spicy chicken wings!) recipe is right here:

1/4 cup of wing sauce
1/4 cup of blue cheese dressing
*Mix those two. (If you like stuff spicier, adjust the ratio to have more wing sauce, or less if you like stuff milder.)
*celery cut up in slices as thin or as thick as you'd like
*pre-cooked chicken in small pieces. (I cooked up chicken ahead of time, although I'm sure you could just use canned pre-cooked chicken if you wanted to be quicker.)
*mozzarella cheese

The only extra instruction other than putting on the sauce, cheese and toppings like any other pizza, is that you want to let the chicken sit in extra wing sauce, or a mixture of wing/blue cheese sauce while you're getting the other toppings on. That gives it more flavor, and makes sure that the chicken doesn't dry out while the pizza is baking.

We put ours on the middle rack at 410 degrees about, for 12-15 minutes I think. I just watch the pizza, so I don't remember exactly how long it takes.

It is SO YUMMY!

We also made a pepperoni with mini ones since it was for Henry) and he ended up just wanting to eat the hot pizza! He's an Arizona born baby for sure!

  1. Yum! We actually made the same pizza last week! Friday is our pizza day:) the only difference for mine was I used ranch instead of blue cheese. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, but love ranch:) I think this is one of my new favorite pizzas!
