Yeah for Living Back Eastward for Autumn!

So after 3 years of living in the desert in Arizona, it was a REAL treat to get to drive only about a 1/2 hour to a apple-picking, pumpkin choosing, petting zoo extravaganza! We met up with Mark, a college friend of Jason's visiting family and friends in Michigan, who also came out to visit us in AZ (camping at the Grand Canyon) and came to our wedding. Mind you he lives in Florida working management with Disney in Disney world.
We had such a great time! Probably mostly because it brought us back to our growing-up years living back east, but still. So, here is a picture book story (mostly) of our morning/afternoon. The first picture is of Jason, Henry and I about to go on a hayride. It was long and scenic and very cool. We even got to pick 2 apples per person in the middle of the hayride for FREE. Lovin' it.

This one is the first one we took. Jason carried Henry for the first part of the morning in our Bjorn. He still fits it-yeah! Henry was just giggling, cooing and throwing his hands and feet up and down chilin' in that thing while we walked. Ah, the things that make babies happy. :)

Mark, Jason and Henry. We ate delicious apple fritters and had hot, fresh apple cider.

Hay rides are just great.

So, this isn't the greatest picture. But it tells a story. You can barely see Henry because he was ferociously grabbing the branches to try to pull the apples off of them. He succeed too.

And here he is again. Gotta love those pudgy little cheeks of his.

Just laughing at something Henry just did.

Going in for the kill. Too bad he couldn't get his mouth around it. He just ended up sucking the skin.

The little girl gave us some feed to give to the goat, and the poor little goat got more beaten than he got food I'm afraid. Henry, being only 8 1/2 months wasn't quite skilled enough to put it in his mouth. He just kept swinging it at the goat's face and unintentionally hitting him in his eye. Poor goat.

So we took it away and just let him watch instead. He enjoyed that too I'm sure. If not, at least the goat was happier when Henry wasn't trying to feed him.

His first picture in a wooden character cut out.

We had to get some pictures amongst the pumpkins. With Henry's orange hair, the helmet just had to come off for 2 minutes while we snapped some shots. He was much more interested in playing with the pumpkins and the hay though to look at the camera. We did get one shot of him looking though. Gotta love that facial expression. The noises he was making were hilarious.

Here are the pumpkins that we decided to take home to carve.

A beautiful site to behold.

While we picked apples, Henry was quite satisfied with his little one that we found.

I'm so glad to be able to capture happy moments like these on film, to be able to look back at them later and just smile.

ps. The story about the helmet to come on the following blog. Short version-it's a DOC band to fix a flat spot.
