This is Not a good idea...

...to listen to while breastfeeding.
Funny story (although you'll have to be the judge on that because Dana says that all the stories I think are funny are really just stupid)
No, Henry did not bust out in song-altough that would've been spectacular, and perhaps a little creepy seeing as he's 14 weeks old.
But I was listening to the cd as I played with him and folded laundry on our bed. He started to root and slobber all over his hands, so I went to feed him. The instrumental part of the cd started and it was just nice and peaceful, laying down nursing my baby...and then the ominous music started (you know, when Ursula comes in). He popped off, looking terribly frightened, and then made this exaggerated pouty face (bottom lip out and everything). I laughed out loud. (Just imagine your baby doing this and you'll laugh too. Or try it sometime and see if they are as disturbed by The Little Mermaid music as Henry was). I kept calming him down and putting him back on, but every time scary music came on, he would repeat the same scared, pouty face, and we'd start all over. After a few times trying to calm him back down to eat, I wisened up and turned off the music. Then he fell asleep. So, I guess I'll be careful what we listen to while he's eating. Apparently The Little Mermaid is just too frightening for him. lol

My 1st Mother's Day

It hit me in a different way that I'm a mom when for the first time in my life, people wished me a "Happy Mother's Day" (instead of a "Happy Future Mother's Day" like when I was in Young Womens).
So, this is how it went...
I woke up in the morning to Jason exclaiming "Happy Mother's Day!" as he put Henry in my arms, and gave me these:

Afterwards, I also got these. (Yellow flowers are my favorite! Daisy's are my real favorite, but these are my 2nd and I totally hinted about them yesterday. Hehehe)

Jason offered to make me breakfast in bed, but we had waited too long and so had to jump up to get ready for church. Oh well. Church was wonderful! Afterwards we took pictures:

Yesterday he had also told me that he wanted to make me 'any dinner that I wanted,' so I looked through one of our slow cooker recipe books and picked out this: (They're called maple glazed meatballs, and OH were they DELICIOUS! It sounds weird, but it was good. They were like tangy and sweet meatballs. There's also pineapple chunks in them.)

We ate them over rice, and had stir fry veggies on the side:

Here's Jason's romantic table set up: (notice the candle and the little rose top in the glass?) It looks a little messy, but it kind of illustrates him trying to do everything (cooking and setting the table) for the first time.I think it's cute.

We also had pumpkin pie (which I actually made. We ate it before dinner though because it got done way before and we were hungry. It was yummy and my first attempt to make it.

We also talked with out moms on the phone and wished them Happy Mother's Day. It was quite a lovely day and I wouldn't change it for anything. :)

Sisters Night...mostly

Some of the times when I come home (and also when Dana and I were home-while in college for breaks) we 5 ladies would do a sister's night. We haven't all lived in the same place for quite a long time and so it's fun to get together without parents, spouses, kids or significant others and just have time together like when we were growing up. It's a little different now because Melanie's not 'the boss' anymore and we don't invent games like people being tigers with poisenous stripes that can only hurt you if you touch them, and only when they want you to be hurt (yes, that was a real game invented by...just take a guess...if you guessed Melanie, you were right. Creative huh. I still don't remember the point of that game. Maybe she does. Hmmm...)
Anyway, this time I was home, Dana arranged the 5 sister get together. Having just 5 girls in one family is pretty darn cool when you think about it. I mean, what are the odds? So luckily, Tuesday night, all of us were free of obligations and bowling was super cheap. What are the chances of that with work schedules and such. She was SO excited and suggested we all go.

Dana extremely happy about bowling. :)
I was on board (my parents said they'd watch Henry). Robyn was in. Melanie was 'thinking about it.' Apparently she thought too long and missed it, because she never showed. Christie was impossible to get a hold of. I even went by her apt. to pick her up, but unfortunately she was at Walmart or something. Stupid Walmart.
So, in the end, it was just 3 out of 5. Not a complete 'sisters night,' but at least us middle sisters went and had a BLAST (yes Robyn I used the word blast on my blog, and I smiling thinking of what your face looks like as you read this part). Eh, the cream is the best part of an oreo. :) Just kidding'
So here are the pictures of our fun night.

Robyn dancing

Dana

Me...right before I hit down a couple pins. I'm horrible at bowling.

Robyn again, right after she got ANOTHER strike. She on the other hand, rocks at bowling.

Dana doing...I don't know actually.

Me doing a 'lucky pose.' Apparently it worked because I totally got a strike that time!

Well, at least we three middle girls had fun tonight!
